TAILGATE SPOTLIGHT: Murray Smith
Edmonton Elks games are exciting, but its the great fans of the Double E that make them a special experience. The gameday experience has become even better with the introduction of the EE Tailgate. Because of our great fans, the tailgate has become the go-to spot for fans to mingle before the game.
Over the course of the season, we want to highlight the incredible Season Seat Members that make the tailgate so special. We spoke with Murray Smith to see what he loves about the unique to football experience.
What made you want to take part in the EE Tailgating?
We have been wanting to have a tailgating spot for a while and finally had a spot open up! We love going to games as we have been season ticket holders for over 15 years so wanted to make tailgating part of our experience at the game! Adding new traditions to the ones we already had when we go to games!
What has the gameday experience been like since you’ve started tailgating?
It has added a lot! It certainly has made games more of an event and a great way to hang out with family and friends before the game! Organizing the game day food is also fun as well!
What is the best part about tailgating?
Hanging out with everyone and doing all the fun activities before the game! The feeling of pride for our team is also amazing
How has the atmosphere changed from the first year to now?
This is our first year tailgating
What would you say to fans who have never checked out the tailgate?
Give it a try you won’t regret it! It is a lot of fun and lots of things to do and see plus the music is great!!
