The Edmonton Eskimos mourn the passing of former head coach Don Matthews.
As a head coach, Matthews coached 365 games, with a record of 231-133-1, including two 15-win seasons — second in all time wins in the CFL. His playoff record includes 23 games with nine Grey Cups and a 5-4 record. He is second all-time with 22 season as head coach.
Matthews holds the record for having coached with six CFL teams as head coach, including, Baltimore, BC, Montreal, Toronto, Saskatchewan and Edmonton.
As a general manager, he is third all-time in win percentage at 0.708.
Matthews was inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame in 2011.
