Norm Kimball is promoted from coordinator of minor football to general manager.
Edmonton would return to the playoffs after a third-place finish in the Western Conference with a record of 6-9-1. The club would lose in the Division Semifinal to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers by a score of 16-8. Randy Kerbow passed for 1,583 yards and seven touchdowns. Tommy Joe Coffey is named a CFL/West All-Star for the third straight season and fourth time in his career.
