
The Edmonton Eskimos have signed American wide receiver Armanti Edwards.
Edwards entered the league in 2016 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The following season, he was traded to the Toronto Argonauts where he spent three seasons (2017-19).
The 2017 Grey Cup champion appeared in 56 career games, recording 244 receptions for 3,181 yards with 16 touchdowns. This past season with the Argonauts, Edwards appeared in 17 games and recorded 69 receptions for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns.
A two-time Walter Payton Award winner, Edwards was selected in the third round (89th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft by Carolina. In four seasons with the Panthers (2010-13), he saw game action at wide receiver, kick returner and quarterback in wildcat formation. He also spent time with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns (2013) and Chicago Bears (2014).
Earlier this year, the alumnus of Appalachian State played in the XFL.
