Eskimos Extend Centre David Beard

The Edmonton Eskimos have extended national offensive lineman David Beard, keeping him in Green and Gold through the 2022 season. Beard was set to become a free agent in February.

The Edmonton native and University of Alberta alumnus was originally selected by the Eskimos in the second round (16th overall) of the 2015 CFL Draft. In his five seasons, Beard appeared in 71 games (42 starts).

In 2019, the Green and Gold offensive line gave up the least amount of quarterback sacks and nine fewer than the next closest team.
