Today, the Canadian Football League announced West Division All-Stars for the 2019 season. Eskimos recipients are:
The West Division All-Stars were selected by the voting members of the Football Reporters of Canada from the West Division markets, the National Chapter and the West Division head coaches.
The CFL All-Stars will be announced in early December.
In 18 games (17 starts), Dean led the Eskimos and finished fifth in the CFL with 89 total tackles and one quarterback sack. Dean was named the Eskimos Defensive Player of the Year. This is Dean’s first West Division All-Star award – he also was an East Division All-Star two times.
Greg Ellingson | Wide Receiver
In 16 games (16 starts), Ellingson finished with a team-leading 86 receptions for 1,170 yards and five touchdowns. He is currently in sixth place in receiving yards in the CFL. Ellingson was named a CFL Player of the Week in Week 2. This is Ellingson’s first West Division All-Star award – he also was an East Division All-Star three times.
Mike Moore | Defensive Lineman
In 17 games (17 starts), Moore recorded 23 defensive tackles and nine quarterback sacks. He also has two fumble recoveries. The Eskimos tied for the league lead in quarterback sacks with 56. This is Moore’s first West Division All-Star award.
Matt O’Donnell | Offensive Guard
In 11 games (11 starts), O’Donnell played at right guard and left tackle. The Eskimo offensive line led the CFL in fewest sacks allowed with 25. The Eskimos also had two, 1,000-yard receivers and one 1,000-yard running back. This is O’Donnell’s second West Division All-Star award.
Almondo Sewell | Defensive Lineman
In 18 games (17 starts), Sewell 35 defensive tackles, one special teams tackle and eight quarterback sacks. He also has one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. This is Sewell’s seventh West Division All-Star award.
