Edmonton Picks 10th in Thursday’s Draft

Final preparations are underway for the 2018 CFL Draft held this Thursday, May 3. Barring any trades, Edmonton has the following eight selections in this year’s eight-round draft:

  • 2nd Round: 1st pick, 10th overall – Acquired from Hamilton in draft pick trade
  • 3rd Round: 6th pick, 24th overall
  • 4th Round: 6th pick, 32nd overall
  • 5th Round: 5th pick, 40th overall
  • 6th Round: 5th pick, 48th overall
  • 7th Round: 2nd pick, 53rd overall
  • 7th Round: 6th pick, 57th overall
  • 8th Round: 5th pick, 65th overall – Acquired from Saskatchewan in the Cedric McKinley trade.

Edmonton has 28 players on the current roster who were selected in the CFL Draft. Current roster players selected by Edmonton in previous drafts are:

2007: Fullback Calvin McCarty – Fourth round (27th overall)

2012: Long snapper Ryan King – Fifth round (38th overall)

2015:

  • Offensive lineman David Beard – Selected in the second round (16th overall)
  • Linebacker Adam Konar – Third round (25th overall)
  • Linebacker Blair Smith – Seventh round (60th overall)

2016:

  • Defensive back Arjen Colquhoun – Second round (17th overall)
  • Defensive back Josh Woodman – Fifth round (44th overall)

2017:

  • Receiver Nate Behar – First round (5th overall)
  • Offensive lineman Jean-Simon Roy – Second round (14th overall)
  • Linebacker Christophe Mulumba-Tshimanga – Third round (27th overall)
  • Safety Jordan Hoover – Fourth round (31st overall)
  • Defensive end Kwaku Boateng – Fifth round (41st overall)
  • Offensive lineman Kwabena Asare – Sixth round (49th overall)
  • Defensive end Mark Mackie – Eighth round (67th overall)
