When the Edmonton Eskimos host the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday, November 5, the Green and Gold will give the belairdirect 50/50 raffle a $100,000 head start — starting the take home jackpot at $50,000!
The first 20,000 people through the gates will each get a free belairdirect 50/50 ticket to potentially win what could be a record-setting jackpot.
Gates open at Noon, two hours ahead of the 2 p.m. kickoff.
The last time the belairdirect 50/50 began with money in the pot was July 2014 when then-20-year-old Connor Croken won $348,534 in tax free winnings, setting a North American record. That jackpot included $71,732 in unclaimed winnings carried over from the previous game.
Since that record-setting jackpot, the Eskimos invested in additional equipment to increase sales capacity and shorten wait times to purchase.
5 steps get in on the money:
In addition to a lucky fan going home with a potentially record-setting jackpot, the remaining net proceeds are distributed to the Edmonton Huskies, Edmonton Wildcats, University of Alberta Golden Bears, Football Alberta and the Eskimo Alumni Association to support the growth and sustainability of amateur football in Northern Alberta. The Edmonton Eskimos do not take a profit from the 50/50 program.
