The Edmonton Eskimos mourn the passing of former player Fred James.
James entered the league in 1966 when he was drafted eighth overall from the University of Alberta by the Stampeders. He would play most of his career in Calgary where he won the first of two championships.
The Edmonton native donned the Green and Gold in 1975 and was a member of the Eskimos Grey Cup championship team that season.
James played 126 games over a nine-year career that includes four Grey Cup appearances (1968, 1970, 1971, 1975).
The Edmonton Eskimos extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
