On Wednesday, Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson carried through with his end of a bet with Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson.
The two mayors with competing teams in the 103rd Grey Cup championship game agreed that the losing team’s mayor would have to wear the jersey of the winning team.
Mayor Watson upheld his end of the bet today during city council meetings in Ottawa. He wore a “Watson” jersey sent to him by Mayor Iveson along with a note reading “Dear Jim, Your team put up a helluva fight. Great game. Enjoy your jersey!”
