West Final Entertainment Line Up Announced

When the Edmonton Eskimos host the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL West Final on Sunday November 22, Canadian country music star Brett Kissel will sing the national anthem, local rock band The Wet Secrets will play halftime and local DJ J-Mello will rev up the crowd pre-game at FanFest. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m.

Brett Kissel | Anthem

The native of Flat Lake, Alberta was only 12-years-old when he released his first country album. The now 25-year-old has risen to prominence with a string of hit singles including Started with a Song3-2-1 and his recent #1 hit, Airwaves. Kissel won the JUNO Award for breakthrough artist in 2014, marking the first time in 17 years the honour was awarded to a country singer. He garnered 10 Canadian Country Music Award nominations, winning three, including CMT Video of the Year for 3-2-1. He is in the midst of a 40+ date, sold-out, Canadian headlining tour that will take him to every province and territory in Canada.

Shauna Durston from the Alberta Association of the Deaf will sign the national anthem alongside Kissel.

The Wet Secrets | Halftime

Meet The Wet Secrets, Edmonton’s furry-hatted, frantic pop six-piece known for their bass and horn heavy dance rock and their unmistakable, impeccable tailoring. The Wet Secrets turn dysfunction into inspiration, delivering pep talks in the form of party songs. With their swampy basslines, primal drumming, dancing horn section, keys, congas and more, The Wet Secrets sound is part punk rock, part brass band.

The Wet Secrets have released three albums to date, all with hits at CBC Radio 3. Their most recent, Free Candy, was nominated for two Western Canadian Music Awards last year. Over their 10 years as a band, The Wet Secrets have played SXSW, CMJ in New York, Sonic Boom Festival and last year’s Interstellar Rodeo. They also won last year’s Peak Performance Project, which has helped them record a new album, coming spring 2016 on Six Shooter Records.

J-Mello | Fan Fest

Edmonton born, Toronto-raised J-Mello opened for Madonna’s VIP parties during the Edmonton stop on the Rebel Heart world tour last month. A staple in local night life, he has been a feature DJ at Tribute Lounge and regularly spins at Cactus Club’s Jasper Avenue and West Edmonton lounges. The second generation DJ also played the official party for rap legend Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3 tour. Spreading his versatile, high energy love of music across the nation, J-Mello has taken his talents to stops in Calgary, Toronto, Waterloo and Regina.

The division championship game returns to Commonwealth Stadium for the first time since 2003. The Edmonton Eskimos take on the Calgary Stampeders on November 22 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now HERE.
