Reilly and Bowman Named CFL Players of the Month

For the second time today, the Edmonton Eskimos dominate the CFL Player Awards.

The league named Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly and slotback Adarius Bowman as Players of the Month for their performances in October.

In October, Reilly completed 141-of-196 passes for 1,579 yards with nine touchdown passes and eight interceptions. He put up three 300-yard games and recorded 158 yards on 36 rushes with two touchdowns.

This is Reilly’s second award of the day, earlier earning CFL Player of the Week for the second consecutive week and for the third time this season. He first earned the honour in Week 12 and again in Week 18.

Bowman accumulated 558 receiving yards on 37 receptions while scoring a pair of touchdowns during the Eskimos undefeated month.

In Week 16, he recorded 11 receptions for 198 yards and a major against BC. He followed up in Week 17 with 12 catches for 208 yards and a touchdown against Saskatchewan.

In 17 games (17 starts), the fifth-year Eskimo recorded 93 catches for 1,304 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns. He is first on the team and second in the league for receiving yards and first in the league and team in catches.

This is Bowman’s first Player of the Month Award this season. He earned CFL Player of the Week honors on three occasions in Weeks 12, 17 and 18.

CFL Players of the Month are chosen by a panel of judges including former CFL players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

With an eight game win streak, en route to a 14-4 record,  the Edmonton Eskimos earned the top spot in the West Division and will host the CFL West Final on November 22 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now HERE.
