Eskimos Dominate CFL Players of the Week

The Canadian Football League has named Eskimos slotback Adarius Bowman and quarterback Mike Reilly as Players of the Week for their performances in Edmonton’s 35-24 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium last Saturday.

Bowman led the Eskimos receiving corps, picking up 147 yards in the opening half, including a 50-yard touchdown. He finished the night with 12 catches for 208 yards and a touchdown as Edmonton picked up its seventh consecutive win.

This season, Bowman recorded 91 receptions for 1,292 yards and seven touchdowns. He leads the Eskimos in receiving yards and is second in the league.

This is Bowman’s second consecutive CFL Player of the Week Award and his third this season.

Reilly engineered the comeback win that included Edmonton putting up 21 points in the second quarter. He completed 29-of-39 passes for 377 yards with three touchdown passes and one interception. He also rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown, in addition to a two-point convert.

In nine games (eight starts) this season, the third-year Eskimo completed 185-of-294 passes for 2,141 yards and 12 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. He also rushed 60 times for 308 yards and two touchdowns.

This is Reilly’s second CFL Player of the Week Award. He first earned the honour in Week 12.

CFL Players of the Week are chosen by a panel of judges including former CFL players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.
