Reilly Returns to Active Roster

Dale MacMillan

Today, Eskimos General Manager and VP of Football Operations
Ed Hervey announced quarterback Mike Reilly will return to the active roster.

Reilly was placed on the 6-game injured list in Week 3 after sustaining a torn posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), a partially torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) and a medial meniscal tear in his left knee in Week 1. Estimated recovery time was approximately 10-12 weeks.

In early August, he participated in partial practice in a limited capacity as part of his rehabilitation before returning to the injured list.

The news of Reilly’s early removal from the injured list came during a media conference today following the announcement that the Eskimos agreed to trade quarterback Matt Nichols to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in exchange for a conditional 7th round pick in the 2017 CFL Draft.

Reilly will return to the field on Thursday when the team resumes practice to prepare for the Labour Day Classic in Calgary on Monday.
