PAR-TAY!
The Labour Day Classic series against the Calgary Stampeders is always, well, classic.
This year, we’re taking a pre-game party on the road to Northlands.
On September 12, before the Battle of Alberta at Commonwealth Stadium on Student Night, the Eskimos and Northlands host the first-ever Park and Party.
“We worked with Northlands to stage an event what would provide acres of parking, a fun afternoon prior to the game combined with their racing events and it became a natural,” says Eskimos Vice President of Marketing and Communications Allan Watt.
“The key was parking and a party atmosphere.
“The parking is free with a food bank donation which is a very good deal.”
So, yes, you get to park your car, SUV, truck or hover craft close to the stadium free of charge in exchange for a food bank donation. It comes with a complimentary warm fuzzy feeling.
At Park and Party, you’ll be greeted by hundreds, heck maybe even thousands, of fellow Esks fans and a full afternoon of pre-game partying ahead of you.
Former players and members of the Eskimos Cheer Team will also be on hand to help support the Green and Gold.
At Edmonton’s largest patio party, fans can enjoy live football-themed horseracing, a beer garden and BBQ featuring everyone’s new favorite: food trucks!
Park and Party is all about building excitement around a perennial favorite on the CFL schedule.
It starts at 1p.m. and will be capped off with the Eskimos Fan March to Commonwealth Stadium at 5 p.m. The legendary Eskimos firetruck and cheer team will lead you en masse to the Battle of Alberta Rematch.
Get your Green and Gold gear ready (face paint too?). This will be epic.
