Former Eskimo Peter Lougheed passes away

(Edmonton) The Eskimos are saddened by the death of former Eskimo Peter Lougheed. Lougheed played football for the University of Alberta before playing for the Eskimos in 1949 and 1950.

After his football career, Lougheed finished law school at U of A and later received his Master of Busniess Administration from Harvard University. He served as the Premier of Alberta from 1971 to 1985 and this past June was named Canada’s greatest premier of the past 40 years.

He died Thursday in Calgary at 84-years-old. Lougheed leaves his wife, Jeanne, sons Stephen and Joseph, daughters Andrea and Pamela and his extended family.
