The Eskimos are saddened by the passing of Ed Wachowich on Tuesday morning. Ed played an important role with the club as a lawyer during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s.
Ed worked for the law firm Kosowan & Wachowich, along with his brother Allan. The firm had worked with Joe Healy and Jim Wilkins in their businesses and began doing work for the Eskimos when they each became President of the Board of Directors.
Wachowich was later appointed the Chief Judge of the Provincial Court of Alberta until his retirement in 1999.
Ed grew up in Edmonton and was a graduate of the University of Alberta. Throughout his life, he gave back to the community through his profession, his public service and volunteer work.
Ed is survived by his wife Lucy, their children Donna (Garth Mihalcheon), Rob (Sheila Shorten), Jim (Laurie Collins), Joe (Bev Dantzer), Peter (John Murphy) and Patricia (Jeff Strangman), six grandchildren and siblings Victoria, Cecelia, Mary, Patricia and Allan and nieces, nephews and extended family.
