(Edmonton) For over 20 years, the Edmonton Eskimos have lent a helping hand at Capital Ex’s Monday Morning Magic. On Monday, July 25, nearly 50 Eskimo players, along with team mascots Nanook and Punter and members of the Eskimo Cheer Team, spent their morning helping kids with disabilities on the rides at Capital Ex.
The annual event has become one of the Eskimos’ favourite experiences of the season. The team spends the morning posing for pictures, signing autographs and enjoying the rides with Edmonton and area youngsters with disabilities before the gates open to the general public.
A day at the annual fair is something many kids take for granted. For a child with special needs, a ride on the merry-go-round with one of their sports heroes is a once in a lifetime experience.
