Edmonton Eskimos
ESKS.com Staff
Serious Injury – DL Julius Williams went down with a dislocated elbow during a drill at tonight’s practice. After spending several agonizing minutes on the field, Julius was taken to the hospital. Williams has been impressing coaches and was projected to not only make the team, but possibly earn a starting job. “Julius has done everything he needed to do to be part of this football team,” says Head Coach Kavis Reed. “We wish him a speedy recovery and want to see him back on the football field when he’s ready.”
Newest face – Non-Import RB Jerome Messam was on the field tonight after being traded to Edmonton from BC yesterday. Messam is excited to have this opportunity with the Eskimos and is busy learning the new playbook. “Calvin (McCarty) has helped me out a lot and I got a few reps in today,” he says.
Top o’ the mornin’ to ya – Coach Reed thinks the team responded well to the evening session and said they looked crisp and kept the tempo up. But tomorrow the team will be back on the field bright and early for a 9:00am practice.
