Monday Night Lights – Head Coach Kavis Reed has decided to switch things up for tomorrow’s practice. The team is practicing at night from 7:30pm – 9:45pm.
Moving north – Yesterday the Eskimos acquired import offensive lineman Junius Coston from Calgary in exchange for future considerations.
On the line – O-line coach Tim Prinsen says the five best players will fill the o-line this season whether it means starting five canadians or having imports at a couple of positions.
Manipulating the ratio – The Eskimos have some flexibility with the ratio to allow a couple of import offensive linemen if need be. Says Coach Reed, “We have a starting Canadian corner and we have a starting Canadian defensive lineman… we also have the fact that Calvin McCarty is doing quite well, so he might change the ratio.” The kicking game will also have an affect on the ratio, depending on if Derek Schiavone (non-import) or Damon Duval (import) earn the job.
Ray to Play – QB Ricky Ray will see significant playing time on Friday, along with the other projected starters. “We do know that Ricky Ray will play. We do know that Fred Stamps will play. We do know that our starting guys that we see right now will play and will play extensively,” says Reed.
