(Edmonton) The Eskimos have signed import DB Lenny Walls, the club announced today.
Entering his fourth year in the CFL, Walls spent the 2010 season with the Eskimos. The Boston College product started five games at halfback and had 10 defensive tackles, a forced fumble and two knockdowns. He spent the rest of the season on the Injured List.
Walls entered the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders in September 2008, starting in the last four games of the regular season and earning a 2008 Grey Cup ring. In 2009 he was traded to Winnipeg and then signed with Edmonton as a free agent in March 2010. Prior to coming to the CFL, the Lenny spent time in the NFL with the Denver Broncos (2002-2005), Kansas City Chiefs (2006), St. Louis Rams (2007) and Baltimore Ravens (2008).
Eskimo General Manager Eric Tillman says, “Lenny has agreed to a restructured contract and we’re very pleased to have him back. Due to his injury, last year was a very frustrating season for Lenny. He’s in terrific shape now and highly motivated to get back on the field and help us achieve the level of success our fans expect.”
