New faces – DL Marcus Adams, WR Taye Biddle, K/P Damon Duval, OL Cliff Washburn and QB Eric Wade joined training camp today.

What a catch – Although he was signed as a kick returner, the coaches have been impressed with Brandon James at receiver. “He was the topic of conversation for a good 20 minutes last night. We’re optimistic about his skill set,” says Head Coach Kavis Reed.

On the line – The Esks are looking to play two imports along offensive line this year. Says Reed, “We’re all human. If you take some of those hits Ricky was taking last year you become a bit on edge…We said from the beginning we are going to protect Ricky Ray and we’ll do whatever it takes.”

Running Wild – The Esks are excited about the current running back situation. Coach Reed says all four RBs (Whitlock, Porter, McCarty, Fils) are doing an outstanding job and that decisions will be made based on performance, not on nationality.

Quote of the day: “I’m close with my mom, but if she’s not good enough she’s not going to be here.” – Head Coach Kavis Reed on his close relationships with some of the players in camp
